The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence

Welcome to Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks, an independent dye studio located just outside of San Francisco, CA

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a colorway that pays homage to my favorite nuns! Growing up in San Francisco's Castro District, I was used to seeing men dressed as nuns any night of the week and any time of year.  Going to Catholic School for most of my life introduced me to one type of nun, but they could not hold a candle to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence! Known for their black outfits and white face paint with pops of color, The Sisters were a symbol of not only fabulous fun, but also a safe person in the community.  The Sisters know that when they are out and about in their habits, they could be a bit over the top but their priority was ministry, outreach and support to marginalized individuals in the community. 

Created to coordinate with Pride 2021, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence joins both the San Francisco Collection and the Compassion Collection where 20% of gross sales will be donated to an organization that supports a marginalized community.  I am excited to donate to The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to further their ministry and continuing to provide support to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Donations from the Compassion Collection will continue for the life of each colorway.
